Two A Day by Lauren Blakely

Two A Day by Lauren Blakely

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Trope: sports, NFL player, workplace, forbidden, shared world

“The way I feel for her can’t be wrong. It blots out everything—the game, the rules… it erases all the reasons I need to be cautious.”

You want to know why I love Lauren Blakely’s books? Because you always know what you’re going to get. Boy meets girl in a cute and quirky way. Girl tells boy she can’t O from oral. Boys makes it his mission to prove her wrong.

Things were great when Brooke Holland met NFL golden boy, Drew Adams. They immediately hit it off and fall into bed together with a promise to see one another the next week…. Except when Drew ghosts Brooke. Determined to put him out of her mind, she goes to work only to find out Drew is part of the football team her boss now manages. Although they try to stay away from each other, they inevitably fall into bed once more.

Gah, I really liked all the things in this book. The chemistry was, BOOM, immediate. The banter was electric. And can I talk about the filthy, filthy mouth on Drew?? *fans self* That’s not to say that Brooke is a submissive in the bedroom. Nope, she can give it just as good as she gets and it’s so refreshing to see a woman demand, “Flip me over and f*ck me so hard I can’t think.”

All the side characters are top shelf, adding to the plotling. Some I recognize from other books I’ve read. Others are new and I can’t wait to deep dive into their stories. Another quick read that satisfies all the romance buttons I like pressed.
