The Good Guy Challenge by Lauren Blakely

The Good Guy Challenge by Lauren Blakely

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Trope: NFL star, fake dating, kink, possessive hero

“You’re my dirty girl. Mine, just mine. All mine.”

Okay, let’s be real here. Lauren Blakely is the kind of writer who delivers when it comes to romance. Most of her characters are good guys, and the spice is good buuuuuuuuut it’s never been THIS good. Jesus, I think I now have a thing for role play!

The Good Guy Challenge is about Ellie Snow — actress turned producer — who has just relocated to LA to begin production on her new dating show. Gabe Clements is the star receiver for a pro football team. Although they’ve known each other for years, and there’s a 10-year age difference, that doesn’t stop Gabe from pursuing Ellie even though he knows it’s crossing some lines.

Now, Gabe has some certain proclivities for impact play and restraints, but thinks Ellie couldn’t possibly be into them too (see comment about the chihuahua in the graphic above) but she shocks the hell out of him by diving into all his fantasies. Degradation kink, praise kink and dirty talk. Be still my beating hard. This book pushed all my buttons in the best way.

The conflict was slightly tedious to sit through (classic not communicating with one another/missed opportunities to tell the other) but thank f*ck that didn’t last too long. I got what I wanted from this book, and if you love some filthy talk and spanking in your life, be sure to pick this one up!
