“As much as I might appear quiet and spooked on the outside, I am also a serial killer who enjoys vivisection and a bit of cartography. And I also enjoy an annual murder competition.”
What would you get if you crossed a serial killer thriller with a romance? The answer? Butcher and Blackbird!
Gah, I loved everything about this book. The banter. The push and pull between Sloane and Rowan. The ridiculous situations they found themselves in then the fantastic way they got out of them. It was a story that blurred traditional ‘dating’ norms under Sloane and Rowan’s annual murder competition. Gallows humor abounds through this book, and I honestly can’t wait to read Leather & Lark, book #2 in the Ruinous Love Trilogy) If you’ve been sitting on the fence about this one, do yourself a favor and grab it. You will not be disappointed.
P.S If you’re a sensitive read, be sure to check the trigger warnings before you read. There are some doozies (see: accidental cannibalism hahaha)
